Strawberries (from the EarthBox)

Jenny picked these strawberries this morning. She did nothing fancy to grow them, just using an EarthBox and making sure the water was always filled. The strawberry plant in the box is actually a couple of years old. The box is in front of our house, facing south, so it gets a lot of sun.

Dylan had these for his pre-baseball game snack.

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear "Mother's Day" is Jenny and what a remarkable job she does as a mom. The second thing that comes to mind is buffets. And, last month during our trip to Tahoe we went to a great one.

Sterling's service and food quality at their Sunday buffet are top tier. I lost count how many times our plates were taken and the number of refills we had on our champagne, OJ and water.

But, above all, what reigned supreme here were the prime rib and the lamb chops. Both were tender and deliciously savory.

Topping everything off was Tom, who walked throughout the restaurant playing hits from the 70s and 80s on his saxophone, flute and clarinet.

Remember the buffet is Sundays only! Adults are $30, kids are $15.
